WCM is a strong supporter of students at the high school and university level, recognizing that today’s students are tomorrow's leaders.  As part of our ongoing support, WCM places a strong emphasis on reaching out to students to promote the capital markets industry as a home to possible career paths.

Every year, WCM members visit both high schools through our High School Liaison Program and universities through our University Connections Program to discuss industry experiences in the broad financial services industry.

We also offer a scholarship fund, the Heather L. Main Memorial Scholarship that supports qualified women participating in Canadian graduate business schools. This scholarship was created to honour pioneering women in Canadian capital markets. It provides financial assistance, participation in a mentoring program and a paid summer internship to talented female MBA students.

In addition, over the past 10 years, WCM has focused on significant initiatives that have enhanced and complemented our Student Outreach Programs.  These include:

• Mentor Lunches - WCM offers mentoring for new entrants to the capital markets. We host regular informal Mentor Lunches with leaders in the industry
• FMC Sharpen Your Skills Luncheon Series - A series of Fraser Milner Casgrain-sponsored workshops and presentations on business skills that enhance members’ professional and personal development. There are 4 learning lunches established in the series with topics that range from leadership, presentation, negotiation, writing, and more.
• Volunteering with WCM on our various Committees
