About the Integrative Health Institute
The Integrative
Health Institute was born from the shared vision of Drs. Meghan Walker and Erin
Wiley who embrace the notion that empowered, healthy women lead to healthy
families and healthy communities.
The
Integrative Health Institute (IHI) philosophy was inspired through the
experience of Meghan and Erin and the time they spent working with women and
their families in rural Africa. In this setting, it quickly became apparent that
when women were well informed about health and disease prevention, their
children and communities experienced significantly fewer incidences of disease
and illness.
Whether
women are caring for their families in Africa or Canada there is a common need
for self-nurture, education and the tools to make empowered health decisions.
Women are role models to other women, to their families and to the young people
around them. The amount of time and type of energy that women dedicate to
themselves is the legacy of health they leave to their children.
The
encompassing philosophy of IHI is that it is time for women to put themselves
first. The IHI experience is different from a conventional medical practice. It
is integrative in its approach and innovative in its health care philosophy. Our
team of practitioners will collaborate to ensure your concerns are addressed
holistically and with an individualized approach. This includes the emotional,
spiritual and physical aspects of your wellbeing.
The
Integrative Health Institute combines the science of sound medical knowledge
with intuition and creativity. We work collaboratively with our clients to find
solutions that address the cause of their concerns.
In
addition to working through the clinic, IHI also
has
outreach programs into our community. Speaking to schools,
community groups and in the
corporate setting is an
important part of reaching out and working with women and young people. We offer
individualized programs regarding health education and wellness issues.
